  • Big Country Spectrum Connection expanded its leadership team by naming Caitlin Marchant as executive director to improve autism support for children. The nonprofit will boost funding and community resources and will host its 5th annual Autism Walk on April 4.  KTXS

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Abilene ISD plans to transform Purcell and Bowie Elementary into STEM-focused schools offering hands-on learning opportunities for students starting next year, as part of the Building Brighter Futures initiative to provide high-quality educational options. The change will support early skill development from kindergarten onward.  KTXS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Concho Valley Action Agency has opened its assistance application window for local residents, who may apply online until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (applications must be completed before the deadline).  FOX West Texas

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Abilene Taylor County Public Health District invites residents to complete the Community Health Needs Assessment to help identify local health needs and improve services + enter a prize drawing.  KTXS
