- ➤ Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller said early detection of the tiny cotton jassid pest on imported hibiscus plants has kept it under control this winter — farmers should report any suspected crop damage to the Texas Department of Agriculture. KTXS
- ➤ Meteorologist Caiden Dinkins said drought conditions worsened in the Big Country after a 44-day dry spell ended early in January (areas north of I-20 now face moderate drought). La Niña has kept rainfall low, but the region is set to shift to neutral and eventually El Niño by spring. KTXS

- ➤ Domestic violence continues to impact Abilene as services from the Noah Project and Regional Victim Crisis Center provide 24-hour free support (including confidential hotlines, safety planning, and shelter options) for victims facing abuse. KACU
