Downtown restaurants are competing in Abilene’s third annual Burger Brawl to boost business during the winter slump.

Customers can sample creative burgers — including Catie’s Pies’ signature Big Poppa — and vote with punch cards due Monday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.

For National Social Worker Month in March, West Texas NASW will honor local leaders in Abilene by awarding Dr. Malcolm Earl Scott for Lifetime Achievement and Judge Phil Crowley as Public Elected Official of the Year—recognizing their efforts to address homelessness, health care, and mental support in the community.
