- ➤ All Kind Animal Initiative is hosting its third annual gala – a 1920s casino night – on March 6 at 7 p.m. at the 201 Mesquite Event Center to raise funds for animal spay/neuter surgeries and transports, with only about 40 tickets remaining at $100 each. KTXS
- ➤ Maxwell Municipal Golf Course will have its grand reopening on March 13 after extensive renovations update the clubhouse and fairways. The city contributed up to $300,000 to fund upgrades including new clubhouse features, improved irrigation, and a new fence for local golfers. KTXS
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Presbyterian Medical Care Mission in Taylor County provides affordable care and free months of medication to uninsured and low-income residents, charging only $50 per visit so that manageable problems do not turn into emergencies; the Abilene Public Health District today also offers charity care, family planning, and cancer screenings. - ➤ The Abilene Environmental Health Division inspected restaurants from Feb-23 to Feb-27 and rated them from perfect to as low as 65. The review noted issues such as unwashed hands and improper food storage that were corrected on site. Abilene Reporter News
