  • At its Thursday meeting, Abilene City Council addressed homelessness by reviewing cleanup efforts that cost nearly $97,000—public works noted a recurring pattern of camp residents—and nonprofit leaders asked for funding for two full-time positions to improve outreach. The council also approved updated rules on animal control and special events, finalized rezoning for an RV park and multi-family housing, and swore in Mindy Patterson as interim city manager with the next meeting set for March 27 at City Hall.  Abilene Reporter News
