  • Abilene Police indicted Samuel Fernandez for aggravated robbery after DNA evidence linked him to a January incident at the Hop In convenience store—he threatened a clerk with a box cutter and fled on his bike after leaving his mask and tool behind.  KTXS

  • On Thursday, the Abilene Police Officers Association endorsed Place 5 Councilman Kyle McAlister and Place 6 Councilman Travis Craver—citing their strong support for law enforcement in Taylor County. McAlister faces Miguel Espinoza and Cynthia Alvidrez while Craver faces Tammy Fogle in the upcoming city council elections.  KTXS

  • Apartment rents in Taylor County increased slightly in February as the average price rose from $1,121 in January to $1,126 with a 2.9% increase from last year.
