Meals for the Elderly unveiled a new sheep statue today and received a check from the Daughters of the British Empire to support their services in Abilene.

A McMurry University art fundraiser is gathering community support for Lace, a student battling a complex brain tumor after losing her vision, as local artists and businesses donate artwork and items through a silent auction (including live music, baked goods, and gift baskets) to help cover her medical care.

Hendrick Health held a flag-raising ceremony on April 10 at its main lobby at Hendrick Medical South and will hold ceremonies on April 16 at the Medical Center entrance and April 29 at the Brownwood campus, honoring organ donors during National Donate Life Month—recognizing gifts that saved lives.
