- ➤ On Friday morning, 27 dogs left Abilene with Dog is my CoPilot for a flight to Montana where foster families are set to care for them—this move eases shelter crowding and gives the dogs a better chance to settle into a home. KTXS
- ➤ Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 is offering extra monthly opportunities for veterans to connect and get help with filing VA claims at its office on 2555 Grape St in Abilene, where coffee and donuts are served. The group holds a regular noon meeting today, hosts Visits with Vets on the second and fourth Tuesday from 9-11 a.m., and offers in-person VA assistance on the first and third Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — DAV membership is not required.
