- ➤ The Szechuan Chinese Restaurant closed after a January grease fire but its koi fish pond remains and local residents have taken it upon themselves to check on and feed the fish. A local pet expert warned that if the pond filter is not maintained the fish may soon suffer—owners have not yet responded for comment. KTXS
- ➤ Three boys with cystic fibrosis (ages 7, 9 and 12) were celebrated at Hanner Chevrolet in Baird as Make-A-Wish West Texas granted them life-changing wishes, marking a moment of strength and community support. Hayden will visit Disney World, Hank will travel to Hawaii, and Hutton will receive an outdoor sports court designed with Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks themes (a once-in-a-lifetime gift) as their family thanked local supporters. - ➤ Today, Dyess Air Force Base is hosting the Wings Over West Texas airshow with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and a mix of historic and current military aircraft — opening ceremonies start at 11 a.m. today while the show will continue on Sunday with an expected end around 4:30 p.m. — weather changes may occur and general admission is free.
