Abilene ISD announced that Melissa Speegle will become the new principal of Alcorta Elementary next school year.
Speegle, who has 20 years of experience in elementary education, said she is excited to lead the school and work with teachers, staff, families, and students to build on its tradition of academic excellence.
Hardin-Simmons University's PA program partnered with Clack Middle School to offer free physicals and a campus tour to more than 170 students.
PA students get hands-on clinical practice and the event is planned to become a biannual opportunity (supporting future mentoring and career exposure).
A bee incident in Eastland left a man dead, and local beekeeper Crissy Ward from Sadie Grace Farms stressed that bees only become defensive when they feel threatened—she noted that bees are key to our food system and urged residents to secure their homes and call a professional if they see a hive—so people can enjoy the outdoors safely this season.
Tom Green County officials plan to decide soon on lowering the speed limit on Schwartz Road, and drivers should prepare *for potential changes* if the County Commissioners *approve the proposal*.
