Abilene readies for a lively weekend with events set from today through Sunday.

Comic Con begins Saturday, May 30 at the Convention Center with panels, vendor hall and voice actor meet & greets while a reenactment of the Pine Street Shootout and the Sunset Market offer additional local fun.

A local group is set to restore the historic Woodson Elementary School in Abilene with plans to preserve the building for future community use.

The restoration project is in the planning stages, and details will be shared as they become available.
