COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Abilene Zoo begins Roarin' Mornings today at 8 a.m. with gates closing at 3 p.m. and will run the early program until September so visitors can watch active animals in cooler weather + enjoy keeper chats and coffee and cinnamon rolls. KTXS
- ➤ Taylor County Expo Center is adding 240 parking spaces at Highway 36 and Loop 322 as part of major summer upgrades (the work is expected to boost local facility use). KTXS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Abilene police said a suspect fled after allegedly shooting a man at the Hookah Lounge on North 6 St around 2 a.m. Sunday - the injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment and his injuries were not life-threatening. KTXS
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Abilene’s City was hit by a cyberattack mid-April when systems froze and the hacker group Qilin demanded a ransom to unlock 477 gigabytes of data—officials now are replacing network equipment and report no evidence that confidential or resident data has been released as of May 28. KTXS
