Willis, Ste. A—providing diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, bottles and other essentials to local families in need.

Gloria’s Grill reopened Monday after a year-long closure when owner Gloria Hermosillo paused service to care for her husband who needed several surgeries—she said the nearly 28-year restaurant missed being part of their lives.

The grill kept its location, menu, and phone number and now offers extended hours as the community welcomed its return with a busy lunch rush.

Anson police arrested two individuals—Joshua Whitaker and Teresa Espitia—after investigating a suspicious fire at Easley Trailer Manufacturing on Saturday, charging them with burglary of a building while the investigation continues.

The Global Samaritan Resources Community Book Room in Abilene gives free books to boost local literacy—Atmos Energy donated $7,500 to improve shelves and fans, and the room will open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon through August 6 with donations accepted at the main location and select drop boxes.
