  • Abilene’s Jewish community has felt the strain from the conflict between Israel and Iran after a ceasefire deal announced June 23 halted 12 days of fighting; Dr. Marc M. EDUCATION NEWS

  • McMurry University raised nearly $23 million in fiscal year 2025—the highest in its 102-year history—to fund student programs and campus improvements. The record effort surpassed the 2022 total of $15.2 million by over 48% and comes as the university celebrates its centennial and welcomes new president Dr. Lynne Murray.  KTXS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An Abilene resident in Butterfield Meadows made a DIY laminated street sign with packing tape after a cyberattack slowed the city's in-house sign printing, leaving intersections without proper traffic control. City crews will finish printing and installing new traffic and street signs this week — addressing local safety concerns.  KTXS
