- ➤ Abilene residents say they are excited for the new Cesar Chavez and G.V. Daniels recreation centers that are under construction and now have steel framing in place. They expect the centers to offer safe spots for kids, meeting rooms, a computer area, and food programs to help seniors. KTXS
- ➤ Let Us Breathe Abilene has started its yearly Back-to-School Shoe and Hygiene Drive to help local students by collecting new shoes and hygiene items at drop-off spots from July 1 to July 31. The drive will finish with a free food and drink event on August 7—organizer Shawnte Fleming-Lewis said the program has grown each year since it began in 2020. KTXS

- ➤ Construction on North First Street is causing traffic delays and slower supply shipments for a local auto shop, while some commuters have not seen changes in their routes.
