Terry Farris lost her home in the flood on July Fourth along the Concho River and salvaged a muddy, rusty cast iron pan from her damaged home in Paint Rock.

Friends Randy and Margie Kiser helped fix the pan—an effort their son James carried out with careful dedication to support her during this difficult time.

Police responded Friday on Morgan St. in Tye after a train hit an 18-wheeler that high-centered on the tracks and pushed the truck 200 feet— the driver was not injured.

Shackelford County officials approved a new data center on July 21 for a site at the intersection of Highway 604 and Highway 351 covering 1,200 acres—Vantage Data Centers will hold job fairs later this year and in 2026 as construction begins later this year and is expected to create 250 full-time jobs with up to 6,500 construction workers at its peak until 2029.
