  • Haskell native Sergeant Buford J. Ellison—engineer of the B-24 Liberator nicknamed the Lonesome Lady—was killed when the atomic bomb struck Hiroshima on August 6 while he was held as a prisoner of war, and his story preserves a vital legacy from World War II.  KTXS

  • Workers placed the final steel I-beam during a topping out ceremony on Tuesday, marking the end of the structural phase for the repurposed former Lincoln Middle School now known as Abilene Heritage Square.
