Veterans gathered Thursday at Taylor County Expo Center for GRIT's Veteran & Senior Resources Fair where local groups provided VA counseling, education services and free haircuts to help them access support.
The event brought the community together to connect veterans with essential resources.
Executive Director Jim Clark, who led the Christian Service Center for 23 years and oversaw its 2017 move to North 10th Street, is preparing to retire and administrative assistant Meredith Horn will succeed him as the new leader.

The Abilene Parks and Recreation Board chose Billy Enriquez Recreation Center as the finalist name for the facility at Arthur Sears Park — the proposal will return for a second reading next month.
