On Tuesday, Sept. 1 the Food Bank of West Central Texas will launch its Million Meal Challenge to provide 1 million meals this Hunger Action Month.
Community members can donate+ volunteer or fundraise at 5505 N. First St. in Abilene to fight hunger together.

A new brunch spot is coming as the Flying Biscuit Café signs a lease at the Allen Ridge shopping center less than a mile from Abilene Christian University.
Local business owners Edward, Samantha and Edgar Ortiz will launch the Southern-inspired café in early 2027, serving brunch and biscuits all day.
🎓 Education
Families with an extra room can host exchange students who experience American high school life as part of a year-long program; the program matches 500 students annually through a screening process that includes a background check and home visit, according to regional manager Abby Sanders.
🏈 Sports
Football Friday Night Presented By First Financial Bank aired at 10 p.m. on KTXS Friday in Abilene as part of its 41st Anniversary Season; viewers received live game updates and scores on air and online.
