  • The 43rd annual Chili Superbowl and brisket cookoff in Buffalo Gap raised funds for Ben Richey’s Boys Ranch and drew more than 35 Cup teams and 18 vendors—an auction raised over $10,000 and chili is available today at the Ranch.  KTXS
  • Local families celebrated Labor Day with outdoor fun during the long weekend, enjoying activities like lake outings, dove hunting, and birthday parties — traditions that brought the community together. These events allowed residents to relax and connect after a busy work season.  KTXS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Abilene will spray for mosquitos tonight in a one-mile radius around the 600 block of Walnut Street and the 2200 block of Oak Street after routine tests found West Nile Virus. Spraying starts at 10 p.m. — residents are advised to use preventive measures to reduce risk.  KTXS
