🎭 Culture
The West Texas Fair and Rodeo returns on Sept.
10 with livestock shows, carnival vendors and family attractions. The event continues through Sept. 19 + includes youth competitions, a pro rodeo and cooking demos.

James Talarico held a rally at Mesquite Event Center in Abilene last month where nearly 1,000 local supporters cheered his plans addressing data center impacts and public education (he said his bipartisan approach might shift traditional West Texas voting patterns).
🏈 Sports
The McMurry War Hawks—rejoining the American Southwest Conference—are set to open their season against Southwestern on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Georgetown, TX.
Head coach Jordan Neal said the team, championing two consecutive SCAC titles, is ready to meet Southwestern’s challenge.
