CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Abilene Police Department reported on Facebook that 50 vehicles were stolen and nearly 100 burglaries occurred this summer when drivers left their keys inside, with thieves stealing items like electronics, documents, and firearms — and the department urged residents to always lock their vehicles to prevent more incidents. - ➤ This month, Abilene city officials urge residents to get ready for severe weather and other emergencies—by gathering water, food, medicine, and important papers for a basic kit as well as making a simple family contact plan. KTXS
- ➤ Abilene resident Kelsey Hegwood got a tire burst and a $250 repair bill after hitting a dip on South 14th and Matador Street on Wednesday — the road damage from previous water company work was quickly addressed as the city patched the road and issued a claim form today. KTXS
