Abilene State Park will host a Veteran Suicide Awareness Hike and Remembrance event on Sept.
12 from 9:00 a.m. to noon (free water and refreshments provided) to raise awareness of military mental health and honor service members lost to suicide. Community members are invited to support this solemn cause.
Glenn Dromgoole, a former editor and author, launched MoreCivilityPlease.com in July to promote kindness and respect in daily Abilene life.
He wants the website to spark conversations about civility in workplaces, churches (and) families without selling books.

Colorado High School’s 9/11 memorial display, now 24 years old, honors victims with index cards listing name, age, and location, helping students grasp the gravity of the attacks (a tribute to memory and learning).
