- ➤ Two Wylie ISD teachers resigned after posting controversial comments about the shooting death of political activist Charlie Kirk — district officials confirmed. The district stressed its social media policies to uphold a safe learning environment for students and staff. KTXS
- ➤ Arrow Ford is donating a new Ford F-150 to the AISD LIFT Center Automotive Program that gives students hands-on training with Ford technology—this move will boost opportunities for future service technicians. KTXS
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At Thursday's Abilene City Council meeting, city leaders approved a purchase of a little over $1 million to enhance cybersecurity — bringing the total spent to about $3 million. Cybersecurity expert Sai Huda said the new equipment will help remove backdoors from past attacks and urged residents and officials to update passwords and activate multifactor authentication — measures that will check future vulnerabilities.
