- ➤ Volunteers cleaned the historic West Texas power plant — a key Abilene landmark owned by the Preservation League—removing glass shards, trimming trees, and operating heavy equipment to ready the 18.3-acre site for future repurposing. Preservation League Executive Director Abigail Payne said more cleanup events will follow once safety measures are set for planned interior work. KTXS
