- ➤ Volunteers cleaned the historic West Texas power plant — a key Abilene landmark owned by the Preservation League—removing glass shards, trimming trees, and operating heavy equipment to ready the 18.3-acre site for future repurposing. Preservation League Executive Director Abigail Payne said more cleanup events will follow once safety measures are set for planned interior work. KTXS

- ➤ The McMurry War Hawks ended their losing streak by winning 31-24 over Howard Payne as redshirt freshman Dylan Plake filled in for starting quarterback Jess Hoel—his key passes helped build a lead and secure a home win after a two-game road trip.
