Grain Theory will host a block party on North 2nd St. from 5-10 p.m. with bands, games, food trucks and beer — Artoberfest will feature a sausage cook-off and local vendors while Doc's Bar and Grill kicks off Doctoberfest at 12 p.m. with a bounce house and food specials.

Local artist Calina Mishay painted a large mural in Haskell to share a message of hope and faith—she said the work invites people to connect and share their life stories, and she is now looking for her next location to expand the movement.
