- ➤ The Interfaith Council celebrated its 25th anniversary on Saturday afternoon at Storybook Garden West where residents gathered at the corner of Cedar+Sixth Street to enjoy cake, music, and dancing. Council president Susannah Lubanga said the event helped people learn about different faiths and feel more united. KTXS
- ➤ Downtown Abilene will host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade of Lights on Tuesday, December 2, with Abilene ISD musical groups performing at 5 p.m., Revolution Strings at 5:30 p.m., and Mayor Weldon Hurt lighting the tree at 6 p.m.—the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. along North 1st, Walnut, North 6th, and Pine Streets while vendor applications open on Monday, October 20.
