The Salvation Army of Abilene is planning to serve hundreds of families a Thanksgiving meal—60 to 70 turkeys and 30 to 40 volunteers are needed to complete the operation—and it is asking local donations to help meet these goals.

Moli McKay's Bakery Cafe will open at the former Natural Foods location at 2534 South 7th Street in Abilene.

It will serve classic recipes like thumbprints & harvest muffins while hiring for positions including Lead Baker, Bakery Assistant, and Guest Services.

Medical Director Ebenezer Appah at Hendrick Cancer Center said men can develop breast cancer and should watch for lumps, skin color changes, or bloody nipple discharge.

He explained that risks such as older age, obesity, and family history increase the chance of the disease—early detection can boost survival rates above 90%.

Tuesday, the Abilene Convention Center was lit pink as Hendrick Health held its annual Bunco fundraiser for breast cancer.
