- ➤ On Wednesday morning, Abilene residents gathered at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery to bury U.S. Army veteran PFC Ronald Kenneth Fogerty who died without any living family. Cemetery officials said the service honored his sacrifice — with U.S. Air Force veteran Stanley Koper attending to show support for his lifelong commitment. KTXS

- ➤ A mural on South Treadway intended as a memorial tribute for Uvalde victims has sparked controversy in Abilene after Brett Cross, a parent whose son was killed at Robb Elementary, said featuring Charlie Kirk with the children is disrespectful—he hopes the image can be altered. Muralist Jennifer Lofton said she meant to honor the victims and claimed she reached out to Cross to resolve the matter. KTXS
