- ➤ Residents in Merkel are concerned over increased truck traffic from construction and solar farm projects after a rock truck overturned near Ash and South 11th street on Wednesday, local resident Shayne Dempsey said (noting trucks pass dangerously close to pedestrians and high school drivers). - ➤ Abilene ISD is hosting Hello High School today at the Convention Center for eighth graders to explore high school courses and career opportunities— sessions will include CTE, course planning and a booth on AI data centers with local business representatives. KTXS
