- ➤ First Financial Bank and Dyess We Care Team are teaming up to deliver 150 gifts to elderly and disabled residents so they can open presents on Christmas Day. Volunteers will wrap and distribute the gifts at local care facilities (Silver Angel Program). KTXS
- ➤ Abilene State Park has been closed since 2022 for pool renovations that included filling cracks and updating mechanical systems (repair cost remains $500K). Painting is set to finish this week and officials hope the pool will reopen for public use this summer. KTXS

- ➤ Abilene Printing & Stationery Company, a local landmark since 1882, will close on Dec. 19 as president Harlan Owen and vice president Karla Bailey prepare to retire and explore selling the business (to safeguard its legacy) amid an evolving industry. KTXS
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ The Grand at Buffalo Run is addressing student concerns after unexpected eviction notices were sent during the holiday season as it moves to traditional market-rate housing. Management is working directly with tenants to fix communication issues and support existing student leases until the end of 2026. KTXS
- ➤ New data shows the median home price in Taylor County reached $251,503 in September (a 1.4% increase from August's $247,925) and recorded sales rose 12.8% from 234 last September to 264, totaling $52.2 million. Abilene Reporter News
