- ➤ Abilene Better Business Bureau announced that John Riggins will retire on Dec. 30 after 38 years, and Britni Brown has been named interim CEO; she will expand outreach and strengthen business and consumer education across 13 counties (drawing on her strong business and education background). - ➤ The Abilene Zoo will host its sixth annual Christmas Celebration from Dec. 13 to 23 with nearly one million lights, themed holiday zones, cookie decorating, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Entry fees vary and all visitors help support animal care and new guest experiences at the zoo. KTXS

- ➤ The Turning Point USA chapter was revived at Abilene Christian University this fall and has attracted hundreds of students as its president Cole Edgar says local support will help it grow despite some criticism. KTXS
- ➤ Wylie ISD is building a 90,000 sqft South Elementary School for K through 5 students near the Buffalo Gap and Highway 707 intersection to ease crowding and improve traffic flow. The campus will open for the 2026-2027 school year. KTXS

- ➤ Licensed counselor Bianca M. Farmer from Abilene offers advice for managing holiday stress by urging residents to set boundaries and take time for self-care during family gatherings and moments of grief.
