Imagination Lab: Run, Turkey, Run! (South Branch)

About this event

Can you build a turkey trap that can keep a clever turkey from making its great escape? Join us for a Thanksgiving-themed Imagination Lab inspired by “Run, Turkey, Run!” by Diane Mayr. We’ll read the story and find out if Turkey can outsmart the farmer and make it safely past Thanksgiving. Then it’s your turn to become an inventor! Using materials such as toothpicks, popsicle sticks, and other building supplies, you’ll design and construct a cage strong enough to hold a turkey. Along the way, we’ll put your creativity and STEAM skills to work as you experiment with building, test your design, solve problems, and make improvements. Will your cage be strong enough to stop Turkey, or will your turkey make a great escape? Come build, experiment, and see what you can create!
